Shakeup In Police As IGP Reassigns 14 AIGs, 26 CPs

In a move aimed at reorganizing the police hierarchy, the Inspector-General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, has issued directives for the reassignment and redeployment of 40 senior police officers. This reshuffling encompasses 14 Assistant Inspectors General of Police and 26 Commissioners of Police, all of whom will be taking up new positions in various commands and formations across the country. According to a statement released on Thursday by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, these postings and redeployments are a critical component of a broader mission to foster a professionally proficient, service-oriented, law-abiding, and community-focused police force. It also serves to acknowledge the newly elevated ranks of these senior officers, aligning their roles with their increased responsibilities. The move is followed the approval of the Police Service Commission (PSC).
